KTTC is the NBC-affiliated television station for Southeastern Minnesota and Northeastern Iowa. It is licensed to Rochester and broadcasts a high definition digital signal on VHF channel 10 from a transmitter south of Ostrander, Minnesota near the Fillmore and Mower County line. The station can also be seen in Iowa on Mediacom channel 10 (HD on digital channel 810) and in Minnesota on Charter channel 12 (HD on digital channel 782). Owned by Quincy Newspapers, the station operates Fox affiliate KXLT-TV through a shared services agreement (SSA). The two share studios on Bandel Road Northwest along U.S. 52 in Rochester. Syndicated programming on KTTC includes: Inside Edition, Access Hollywood, Judge Judy, The Doctors, and The World's Funniest Moments.

It operates the area's CW affiliate on a second digital subchannel. Known on-air as Signal Hill CW, it can also be seen in Iowa on Mediacom channel 2 and in Minnesota on Charter channel 7. "Signal Hill" denotes KTTC studio's location at the northern-most point of Rochester.
The station can be seen on three translators. This includes digital W50DR-D channel 50 in La Crosse, Wisconsin from a transmitter on WXOW's tower in La Crescent, Minnesota and analog K62EC channel 62 in Winona from a transmitter east of downtown. At one point, KTTC was also seen on analog K70DR channel 70 in Blue Earth from a transmitter east of downtown. This translator has a construction permit to air a low-powered digital signal on channel 16 with the calls K16GY.

On July 14, 1953 the station signed on as KROC-TV as the first channel in Southern Minnesota and the third in the state after KSTP-TV and WTCN-TV in the Twin Cities. Launched by G. David Gentling (son of KROC radio owner Gregory P. Gentling), it was sister to KROC radio (AM 1340 and FM 106.9). The station carried programming from all four commercial networks of the 1950s: ABC, CBS, and DuMont but was a primary NBC affiliate. [3] The family operation eventually became the Southern Minnesota Broadcasting Company. In 1976 due to Federal Communications Commission (FCC) restrictions on ownership of multiple stations in a single market, this channel was purchased by Quincy Newspapers from Southern Minnesota Broadcasting. The call letters became KTTC.
KTTC-DT began broadcasting on UHF channel 36 in September 2000. [4] It ceased analog broadcasting on VHF channel 10 at approximately 1:35 on the afternoon of February 17, 2009. [5] Later that afternoon, KTTC-DT commenced broadcasting on channel 10. [6] The station's pre-transition digital facility on channel 36 became the final post-transition facility for ABC affiliate KAAL. [7] In 2001, the station entered into a shared services agreement with Fox affiliate KXLT which had been sold by Shockley Communications to Quincy. However, Shockley retained KXLT due to FCC restrictions on common ownership. As part of the arrangement, KTTC provides all technical support, promotions, commercial production, and master control for that channel. This station also produces a nightly prime time newscast on KXLT. Additionally, it has a relationship with Charter Communications in Olmsted County, Minnesota to provide local news updates on CNN Headline News.
In addition to its main facilities, the station operates a bureau in Austin. The channel operates its own weather radar at the main studios. In the La Crosse area, KTTC analog translator station W67CH channel 67 ceased broadcasting on November 4, 2009. [8] It was replaced with digital translator station W50DR-D which went on-the-air at 2:10 p.m. on the afternoon of October 14. [9]
